What is Second Chance Places?

We are a second chance apartment locating service. We provide a LIST of second chance communities. 
We are NOT an apartment community. We do NOT collect your personal information or credit application.

Why do we charge a fee?

We charge a FEE to help pay for our web domain, bandwidth, and other operating expenses. These expenses enable us to provide you with our website and service. 

 

Is the fee refundable? 

NO.   (You are receiving virtual goods, once you obtain access to our listing this can not be undone!)

 

When will I get access to the list of second chance apartments?                                  
Same Day. After payment is confirmed, you will be redirected to a landing page which will allow you to download the listing.

 

How Long will I have access to listings?
30 Days

 

Is this a recurring fee?

Nope, just a 1 time fee.
 

Are broken leases accepted?
Yes. Broken leases must be 24 months or older. 

 

Are evictions accepted?

Yes, must be 24 months old. Additional Conditions apply for San Diego. (Please review each city's individual page.
 

Are bankruptcies ok?

Yes, case should be discharged or dismissed.

 

I'm self employed, is that ok?

Yes

 

How many locations are there?                                                                                                         
10 or more Locations to choose from.   However, we do offer a few limited listings for a few cities that only have 4 -9 locations. Price reflects number of listings. 

 

Are the locations nice?
We offer a wide variety of options. Price reflects location.

 

Why do I have to pay a fee?                                                     
Our fee helps to cover operating expenses. Unlike traditional apartment finders with 100,000 locations, our partners are limited to just a handful willing to accept individuals with credit challenges.

 

How much is my deposit?
Deposits range from $100 up to a full months rent based on credit.
Additional deposit may be required based on prior evictions.

 

What if I have more than 1 past eviction or apartment debt?
Program allows for 1 eviction 24 months or older (12 months Atlanta). Approval will be at the discretion of the individual property manager if you have more than one eviction on your record.
It's important to know where your credit stands. A free report & score is included with access.


Will there be more second chance communities?
Yes, we add additional communities as they apply with us.

 

How do I know what's available?
Contact the community of your choice directly for current availability
Links to external sites may not show current availability. It's always best to call.

 

How soon can I move in?
Most communities have units available within 2 days. Contact community directly for availability & move in times. Subject to approval.

 

I receive social security, is that OK?
Yes. Any form of (verifiable income) is accepted. Must be verifiable

What type of background information would disqualify me?

Since each community is different we can't give a definite answer.
If you are concerned about your criminal background check, it's always best to be upfront about a criminal record. Use your own judgement if the crime happened 10 years ago it will most likely not affect your ability to rent. Some searches only go back 7 years but remember each community is different.

Most Misdemeanors need to be 2 - 7 years old

Most Felonies need to be 5 - 10 years old


Approval will be at the discretion of the individual property manager if you have more than one eviction on your record.

 

If you are a registered sex offender, it's best to use a locating service that specializes in that area You, may also try privately owned properties or subleasing.
